Ball goes into touch outside the 22.

Defender picks up ball runs back into the 22 and takes a legitimate QT.

Receiver then kicks direct to touch.

Gain allowed? Has the defender taken the ball in?

(I thought we'd agreed he had but I think I saw this happen in the Gloucester/Wasps match on Saturday and gain was allowed.)

Any official line on this?

No gain allowed.

I think it is on RFU ELV FAQ page.

Something else must have happened, as Premiership Refs are never wrong ! :D
