My first red card was in my second year, about the second game of the season, after the card a brawl erupted on the sideline between spectators and the players parents, I promptly called the game off and made a hasty retreat from the ground, only because I had a party to be at, did leave wondering why I was doing this but during the evening upon reflection thought, hell he was in the wrong, I was in no danger nor threatened at any stage, in fact everyone agreed with the red card, so kept going and had a really enjoyable season. Refered the same kid in one of his first games back after suspension without any problems from either him or his father, also ended up refereeing the same team several times throughout the year and had a much better relationship with the coach after the card.
