Cooper & Williams allowed to get away with cynical foul play, though the AR's were mostly much to blame for missing it, especially Coopers soft knee to McCaw's head. Allowed the game to flow well, especially through the TRM areas. All Blacks quite often in front of the last foot. ​

OTHER COMMENTS Sometimes I wonder what his motivation is. It is easy for him and hence sometimes can appear casual. For a final I would expect the ref to look as though it is as important for him as it is for the players...

Mike - I am intrigued by Fitness 7. He has passed the mandatory IRB tests. What more do you expect?

Did he fatigue which led to poorer decision making and lack of consistency in second half.

OTHER COMMENTS I gave him only 5s for R/M and T because he allowed players to go off their feet on the wrong side of the ball all night, and was not vigilant enough on offside pillars at the rucks. Other than that, a good all round performance and particularly I game him a 10 for communications, because he was always very clear in both his preventive management calls and his decision explanations.

I agree.

I'd mark down on foul play. Missed a punch by Black 2 in the 12th minute and also the trip by the Bake-Bothe-in-black, Ali Williams.
