Hi, I was speaking to a friend of mine who was in a match the other day (non league, society appointed ref - different area) and apparently the opposition were committing so many penalites that the referee opted to let the captain choose someone on his side to get a YC. I know it is possible that the referee could bring the captains over and say the next time x offence is committed it's going to be a YC to the offending player (if it is particuarly prevelant in the game, for example), but has anyone got any thoughts on this particular scenerio? I can't find any mention if it in the LOTG, and I've never heard of it before.

It's a rogue decision, if correctly reported.

Ref was wholly wrong, at least after the game he was.

During the game then the ref is of course correct, and the Captain should do as requested without dissenting.

That's what I thought upon hearing it, just wanted a second opinion. It does seem a rather odd thing to do...
