thread block misunderstanding

i've just tried to reply to OB's post to me only to be told the thread has been blocked.

The reason given was that my post had already been answered when my post only requested confirmation that my summary was correct.

Please will someone justify this action.

I tried to point out to OB that the reference he drew my attention to had misused the possessive apostrophe. I was blocked. Not so Ian.

Are you monitors now playing playing games with me?

Fowler gives the specific example of "dot your i's and cross your t's". The apostrophe isn't limited to possessives (see what I did?). The particular rationale in this case is to avoid ambiguity - "dot your is" might confuse people.
