German referee Felix Zwayer disallowed a France goal, and awarded one to Spain, after consulting with a video assistant referee
Video technology was used to correct two wrong decisions as Spain beat France in a friendly in Paris.

France striker Antoine Griezmann had a goal ruled out by a video assistant referee for offside.

And Spain's second goal, scored by Gerard Deulofeu, was awarded by the video official after an assistant referee wrongly flagged for offside.

It is against us today, but if we have to go through this, it will be the same for everyone

The issue here of course being that having flagged for offside the defense may have backed off/stopped.

Another thing being considered is that the VAR could award a "penalty goal" if a handball prevents the ball from going in the net. Rather than the current sanction of a penalty, which might be missed.

Sounds like he communicates his findings to the match referee with comms. BBC
I suspect the exact workings have yet to be hammered out, since trials have only just begun.
