I.e the one that is first choice for your society/association this year?

This is the Queensland Kit (Modelled by Moi!) a nice shiny silver which doesn't clash with anyone else.

I't a good kit though the pockets in the shorts are huge, that's my only gripe really.

Interesting to see that your QLD kit is made by CCC and not KooGa like the Reds kits.

Here is ours:

Not me by the way.

Yeah, it was for blue 6 dropping onto a green player and leading with his knees.

NSW kit is not very good IMHO. (From 3 years exp of wearing it).

Bryan, That QRRA kit you have has now been withdrawn from all refs so that only the new one is used.

What game did you do at Suncorp? The TGS before the Super?

I do have to say I like the queensland socks. Would you get docked for wearing silver boots though?

Shorts and socks good BUT only possible reason shirt is ANY good - it will NEVER clash with a team (none would be tasteless/ uncool enough to go near the hoops and those colours).

I actually quite like the NSW kit - the design anyway.

No clash with any teams so no need for more than 1 jersey, and not too lairy - after all no one is there to see the ref.

Only problem is the quality of CCC gear. Last years shirt was a shocker (this years is OK), the socks are too short and the shorts are liek parachutes. I stick to my old ISC shorts.

In Newcastle the shorts were the same light weight ones that the Sydney boys wear, and the socks I found were very good dark blue ones that hold themselves up. (The QRRA ones hold themselves up too and have no turnover).

You state the shirt does not clash with anyone, but I disagree. The colours on it are mainstream colours, Blue, gold, red and white. The higher the level you referee the more teams just look for a flash of the right colour and that's it ball goes towards it.

I think the NSW clubs have got used to it so it has become the norm, but I felt very uncomfortable for my first season wearing it as I noticed everywhere that it clashed with other teams.

The ISC's were like that - but not the CCC's

That's why the Premier refs wear the various solid block versions - but it means having to carry a red, a white, a yellow ...

yes, but someone has to pay for it

Cost for our gear (and society fees) come straight out of match fees, not that I'm in it for the money (it's merely there to cover costs more or less, but it can be a nice little bonus at the end of the season).

I already have 2 shirts this season (shirts don't like the dryer and with the weather we are having, shirt isn't drying over night after juniors on Fridays and before Seniors on Saturdays - not the best feeling to wear a damp shirt) so wouldn't mind at all if they were the solid colour ones and I could swap between them.

Ahh - we don't pay for gear, and we don't pay society fees.

We are given a shirt, socks, shorts, cap & water bottle each year, and a tracksuit once we have done a certain number of games - I think it was 12.

(A number of refs choose not to accept match payments and donate them back to the society. I've never accepted a match payment - mine are donated straight to my club)

Here, play "spot the second touch judge!"
5251_1024470750297_1781120908_55457_6920941_n.jpg
The bloke modelling the gear has rolled his sleeves up, which hide the blue cuffs. At least half the clubs play in some of blue, white, or yellow.

Alternate strip? Ha!
