Because the latter is specifically excluded in LoG in 9.B.3(c) for conversions.
Shouting at a kicker and 'my ball' in open play to opposition is covered also under 10.2 UNFAIR PLAY and a 'catch all' Code of Conduct which includes the quote "Rugby is rightly proud of its ability to retain high standards of sportsmanship, ethical behaviour and fair play".

So what is the secondary signal for "Acts contrary to good sportsmanship"

thanks for all the feed back. he only does it if he is charging to where the ball is coming down, not if it is on the other side of the field, and if he can see that the opponents are unsure who their catcher is. and is has worked more than once in the same game. for sportsmanship i will tell him to call "dom's ball" (His name is Domenic. Durbsjun would just sound silly)

Nothing to do with sportsmanship. The opposition don't know his name. It's to help his teammates know whose calling for it.
