Dear members,

Please feel free to log into the new forums and help to test them before the turnover.

Most of you should find your logins work fine, those of you who have recently changed your name, it will work under your old name, and those fairly new (under 3 months) may need to register to test it.

Please report any problems you find HERE (Not on the test forums).

Please note that all posts made on the test forum will be deleted when I take this database over.

All comments are welcome, and you are free to use / abuse as many of the features as you can, including the facebook integration.

I will be looking to fix functionality issues first, and cosmetic issues second.

The new site can be found at www.rugbyrefs.com/VB4/

Play away!

I'm not enormously IT literate - apologies first of all.:p

The new forum page is too big for my monitor - it's got one of those slidy bar things at the bottom. How do I change that so it all fits?

Lots of nice toys to play with.

Re: Profile pictures, can you disable this for Dickie, I have a weak stomach :p

I have got both vertical and horizontal scroll bars (on laptop 1024 x 768) so site difficult to read.

Unless page 'fits to screen' I can forsee a lot of user frustration and reduction in use.

I will try to look on my Blackberry later.

Yep just echo what others have said, it's too wide :chin:

Not had too much time to play but my fave short cut is of the "quick links" tab on here and then to "todays posts", which i did seem to find at first look?

Strange, looks ok for me (same as this one), I'll see what I can find.

When looking make sure you refresh the page when you see something wrong (Ctrl + R or Cmd + R) and see if it looks the same.

This forces your computer to refresh the information from the website not use the info it has stored in it's memory (refreshing the cache).

Way too narrow now  It was fine before.

Am using IE 9
Screen resolution is 1680 x 1050

When I first log in this box pops up:

Phil E, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1.Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2.If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Log OutHome

If I then click on Forum tab it is ok.

Still too wide.

IE 6.0

I suspect this is REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEally old but it's at work so can't do anything about it.

Cheers!

IE 9 is the latest. But then in Yorkshire you are usually several years behind the rest of the country

That'll be settings.

Phil, I'm with the too narrow crowd too, I'll have to work on getting the fluid system working again tomorrow (To explain if you narrow and expand the window you look at this forum in you will see it resizes as you do it).

LLP, IE6? Does your work realise it's got more holes than an air filter! They should be on 7 as a minimum and 8 recommended, go tell them! :chin:

You should always be no further than 2 versions from the most up to date browser.

I retire in 20 years - I won't have time to get my business case approved.
