this pdf is graphical so that the pages are all fixed sizes and layout and the text won't flow to accomodate different size screens, and can't be resized.

so the pdf is just about readable on something like a tablet, but almost unusable on a phone.

the London Scoiety only got copies of the 2014 book to give out in November...

(In Adobe Reader XI) print it using 200% in the "Custom Scale" box; takes the page size to (near as dammit - 8.2" x 11.6") A4.

- in a pdf format suitable for kindle.

Why would you want to print all 180 pages? Just print 4 to a sheet double sided if that's what you really want to do.

I'm still awaiting my 2014 book so not holding my breath.

then you get 212 pages of A4 !

Or 106 sheets double-sided - but that's what I thought you wanted?

Or, of course, 53 pages if you go 2-up doublesided on A4.

EDIT: I think Adam's eyes are younger than ours...

EDIT2: you could even print it in Booklet mode, but I think there may be an issue there with pages being flipped upside down...

No, I want a version of it designed for A4 : there's not so much text in those Laws that they require 200 sides of A4...

Print 2 or 4 up, then? At 2-up, you're simply reading two columns per page, separated by a gutter. Admittedly, you're holding the page horizontally...but even that's cured by going 4-up.

I have printed it two pages on a sheet, double sided and it's still >50 pages of A4. Too bulky for my kit bag : it just doesn't look like it needs to be that big, to me. Oh well. Perhaps I'll be able to get hold of an actual book.

Must have been weird on Sunday with Phil if your moniker on here is accurate. Saying that I guess if you are actually really small that would have looked funny as well...
