There is a conflict between Law 20.1 (j) ... must be stationary ... and Law 20.5 ... the scrum half must feed the ball in without delay. ...Following an enlightening evening with BCM666 I now brief front rows and the #9 to the effect that long arm binding is a must, the scrum will be stock still before the ball comes in which it will, straight. If you enforce these three points then everything works and I honestly believe that the teams that I have refereed this way are a lot happier.
