Having worn both black and white boots throughout my playing days and now refereeing, I dont see an issue, as long as your calls are correct and you can keep up, the colour does not matter.
When I was in Kenya with work, the local village had a 7's tournement going on which we entered a team in, I think there was 4 pairs of boots in the whole competition, most of my guys wore trainers.
The rugby and the reffing was top notch without footwear, so people need to concentrate on the main prorities not the colour of the boots. And if that is the only point an assesor is going to pull people up for then I think we are all doing a pretty good job.
