Getting my first run out of the season. The match should be a level 10/11 affair. The two clubs share their home ground so should be an interesting way to start the season!

Got a Charity game this Saturday, should be a L9ish game- a L9 club playing a Help 4 Heroes select side, who will have a few very good players mixed in with novices.

First appointed game is L9 league game with an assessor, second game is a L9 EDF Cup exchange with an assessor.

I have recieved unofficial notice that I have made the Federation this season, but waiting for official confirmation before I get my hopes up too much.

Not this season, been given a new coach for this year who has a completely different approach. Looking forward to working with him though, he has got some great results out of his previous "students". I still speak to TM every week though

So today I went to the Curnis Cup, a u23 tournament, because my assignor said that she'd be there and there would be quite a few refs to meet. So I went, I found out I'm reffing Friday night at 7:30 at Richmond Athletic club. It's a preseason women's game with Richmond 2nd/3rd vs London Fire brigade, i believe, however the appointment is still listed as Richmond 1st v TBC.

Cody - it is the Cronk Cunis Cup - Andrew Cronk (Old Craleighean) and Tim Cunis (Old Pauline) started it 10 years or so to encourage players in 18-23 age groups to continuie playing rugbu at and after University. A number of new Old Boys (school ex-pupils NOT Vets) sides have formed in that time (Old Wellingtonians for example).
Tim Cunis and I played in same team at Old Paulines back in 1970s. He is a rugby man thorugh to the core.

Nice gentle start with a ladies 2nd XV match - enjoy.

If you referee Old Norvicensians, be nice to them.

I've got my first "proper" appointment of the season tomorrow.

L9 - Yorks 3 - "Derby" between two Leeds teams.

I'm looking forward to it. I think the only thing that's changed is the rolling subs bit!! I'll have to have another swot up on how it works.

Its easy, they are allowed squad of 20 and any number of interchanges, simples.

I am at the 'Gate tomorrow, see what the hospitality is like.

You might be right, but the trial in D&N was 20 last year.

Just remember they still have to have the correct number of FR replacements to have that many ;)

- Five replacements.
- Unlimited interchanges.
- 4 in squad must be capable of playing front row.
- No changes at a PK or FK.

This is going to be reviewed in January 2012 (or so we were told at a meeting last night).

So only 4 FR even though >18 players?

I would make them have 5 LOTG trump the competition regs.

Yes. Read the document Bob sent you.

This rule is designed to give more people a run out on a Saturday. It is not to detriment the lower teams in a club. I assume that is why they haven't increased the requirement for 5 squad members to be STE FR players.

This follows the RFU's new emphasis in player recruitment and retention.

I go to one RFU meeting and I've already become brainwashed!

As a student - that'll be new experience for you!

I'll dig out Uncle Bob's e-mail when I get home.
