I am shaving my head for two reasons - To stop being compared to teen pop singers (last year it was Justin Beiber, this year One Direction) and to raise money for the New Zealand Cancer Society. They supported me and my family when my dad had cancer and they do great work generally.

Any and all donations ate super welcome - I'm aiming to raise $2000. www.everydayhero.co.nz/bigchill

I'm having the big shave on the 21st of May (it was going to be the 12th but I have my graduation on the 19th and Mum said if I was bald in my graduation photos she would disown me.)

How good is this? I sponsored for NZ$30 and the receipt says they owe me AU$10. Have to do this FX more often.

Sweet as, cuz.

Donated, well done on a good cause.

Though i do agree you need a haircut anyway, the overgrown Justin Bieber look just doesn't do it for you.

Yeah, I have a better hairstyle at the moment, but it gets in my eyes when I'm reffing.

Thank you so much everyone! Especially to the anonymous person who donated $500! (I think they're probably from here.)

donated - hair in the eyes is a problem I have never had to deal with

I wish I could say that. When it rained at the time I had my afro it was terrible to referee with.

Did I screw up the exchange rate? I thought that was £5.

That was one way to make a Scotsman check his receipt very quickly, but after the donations I received for here, I think I could guess who it is, so well done on backing a good cause. I won't say who it as I respect you remained nameless so that you didn't get attention.

A friend of mine who's a hairdresser has been lined up to do the actual shaving. She's a little more excited about it than I'm comfortable with, but hey...

Trish, did this ever happen? How did it go? Have the golden locks grown back yet?
