Easy weekend for me, Saturday daytime watching a local 7s tournament as they already have there fill of referees and then number 5 at the Edinburgh v Munster game on the evening.

Not long to go until the end of the season t this rate.

Bloody hell I forgot how much hard work playing was. My team won 71-5. I set up two tries and was dominant in the Scrum. Feeling it now. Tommorow might involve a very very long warm up period.

But pushing is far more fun. Had my opposite Loose-Head begging for mercy at one point as I had pushed him backwards and into a really awkward position.

Random Cambridge society ref.

Only issue with him was that he allowed Norfolk's try to stand when it was clearly held up. Other than that he was perfect. Understood the nature of the game, allowed it to flow and didn't slow it down too much.

Back up to the exotic world of Lancaster tommorow. Warrington 3 v Liverpool St Helens 2 on Saturday. Nice Level 9 to finish the 15-a-side season. Been roped into refereeing the U12s Lancashire Cup Finals on Sunday. Anyone know the U12 regs - haven't got a clue!

Final league game of the season - have a play-off match next weekend - at Bedford Athletic who are entertaining Syston.

Expecting a nice fast flowing game with no pressure (especially after last week's pressure cooker!)

Careful, domination is going out of fashion, To be replaced with PKs or uncontesteds!

Weekend off. No rugby to ref or watch. A bit of hillwalking for me.

It won't be if I ever put the playing boots back on full time again. Trust me.

In other news - Been appointed AR1 at a Level 5 Colleges Cup Quarter Final - Myerscough College v Hartpury College.

Not really AR'd alot before and certainly not for an extended period of time while miked up. Anyone got any advice.

(My AR experience relates to finals of youth tournaments and 10 minutes of Eastern Counties v Essex)

Chance gros.

There is a historical connection between the two clubs which explains the journey from the South of France to the jewel of South Yorkshire.

In which case - perfect fitness for Varsity.

I've managed to cause havoc with the appointments for tommorow.
I've gone from a Level 9 - Warrington v Liverpool to a Level 10 - Sale v Aldwinians to another Level 10 - Sandbach v Generic Team from Gloucestershire and then a Level 11 - Eagle v Someone or Other. All in the space of 45 Minutes.

Literally travelled around Cheshire through appointments!

York University (Largest Varsity in Europe ;))

Their RL side has only been running since February but apparently they have only been training for 'Roses' and nowt else. It's gonna be a very difficult game. I also have a feeling I might not make the squad :/

Bisto. Men's own are nice to referee. They appreciate a ref who can banter and enjoys the game too
