Slightly off topic regarding refereeing, but my club won their final 😊🥳 <feeling proud>
I once coached one club, that reached the fihals (but lost 31-28 or similar) - Im not claiming any credit though as it s something like two decades ago! LOL

My Son's team won the Colts Division 2 Championship last week.
Then on Tuesday night they won the Colts Cup against the Division 1 Champions.
😁🥳🤩

HS/U19 state semifinals - AR2 for a Division 1 semi, possibly a Division 2 before/after.

Weather dependent, could be moving the TV out the back for the prem final, involving the hot tub in this equation may be a recipe for disaster 🤷‍♂️

Schools rugby on Sat and Junior club rugby on Sunday.

All kind of overwhelming having moved from Melbourne to Sydney, but beginning to find my groove and understand how things work in NSW.

What differences have you found between the two areas/societies?

Size is the big one!

In VIC there was one association for the whole state, in Sydney there are at least 3 associations and school comps are generally appointed separately.

(Last year in U12 my son was one of 8 teams in the comp for the state, here he has 5 teams for U13 just in his school!).

I felt the referee support in Vic was better for me, but that may be due to a clearer pathway for a new ref than a transferring ref, and also because at present I am working with 3 different appointing areas (2 different schools and the junior comp).

Club nats didn't come to fruition, so am AR'ing at the HS state champs in Lemont on Sunday.

Will be interesting to see how the coaches react to the TZ restrictions.

Result - one coach didn't listen, and a report has been filed with the SBRO (which has a Code of Conduct, since this technically doesn't fall under referee abuse).

This weekend - BelleVegas 7s on this side of the Mississippi. Mens, Womens, and HS divisions. A wide geographic spread of teams (Nebraska, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas) as well as touring sides.

for us, we have Match Official Abuse - just for that reason
In this set of circumstances, it didn't rise to the level of abuse - coach was told to leave the playing enclosure (after coming on to the field to complain about a call), then returned later. It was brought to the attention of the referee manager, who escorted the offender away. At the end of the game, the center ref once again saw the offender within the playing enclosure.
