In Cumbria the refs have don't have whistles, they use distress flares.

BUCS derby in Cardiff (3rds v 1sts) today and a youth cup match on Saturday. Did the 7th of the thirds (cardiff Met) UNI boys last week Did the 2nds of the 1sts (USW)uni a couple of weeks ago.

The youth game home team (Bargoed) is a first for me. I did the Away youth boys, Pill Harriers (Newport) last week.

Update to the above:

Damages ligaments in left knew and a probable cartilage tear in the right knee means a break for a month or so according to the quack.

This weekend.

Yorkshire Silver Trophy - which is quite a nice trophy.

Hullensians (L8) v Bridlington (L7).

Should be interesting - Hullensians 2nd in Yorkshire 2, Brid 6th in Yorkshire 1

It's playoff tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime

D2 Women's Bowl semi - Fox Valley Vixens @ County Will Morrigans

This year, there's a second-tier playoff to give lower teams more meaningful games, which IMO is a good thing. Not good, the likely mid-40s temp at KO.

Down to Roosendaal for RCC vs Delft. Delft just moved down a level and are a strong second in the league, RCC are a physical team (at least, last time I saw them 2 years ago), with ambition. They can also be a handful to manage... A good opportunity to practice the policeman side of refereeing.

an interesting feature of communicating in the global environment. I don't know if you're lamenting because it will be too hot or too cold. Guessing that in North America in November, it will be the latter.

Apologies for not being more clear; your guess is correct. While I wouldn't mind refereeing in 40C weather (and have done so in 7s on a few occasions), it will be a more...somber environment, while also preparing me for championship weekend the following Saturday.

My hope is that the home club won't have to bust out the handheld torches to melt the snow this time.

Postponed (Cancelled)

I don't know why YRFU persist with their Cup/Bowl/Plate/Trophy - no one gives a toss about them.

Supposedly restructure (if it happens) is to allow for more of these non-games to happen.

This weekend I am back in Yorkshire 1

Level 7

Dinnington (again) v Bradford Salem

9th versus bottom

Dinnington have lost a few games recently (not by much) whilst Salem have hit the foot of the table after being overturned by a resurgent Goole.

Should be close(ish).

AR'ing for Midwest Champs @ Lemont

Seven matches on the card across three pitches - Men's D1/D2/D3/D4, Women's D1/D2 Champ/D2 Bowl

As is tradition for the event, current forecast is ~40F/4.5C with a chance of snow

This week Yorkshire 1 L7

West Leeds v Bridlington

5th v 6th

Brid have flown in some Shute Shield participants-albeit ones who were getting their arseholes handed to them every week.

Another colour clash. I did tell 'em when they confirmed. We'll see. :)
